Hi i have had my tank set up for 4 months now and it was set up using tap water and i used tectra tap water treatment to remove all the nasty stuff like mentals & so on. over my past 2 water changes i have been useing ro water after reading its the best water. So i decided to save me driving 45 mins to my nearest store every time i needed some water i would buy a ro unit, which i did yesterday. But the unit has no instruction on how to set it up or fit it or even how it works so im a bit stuck! It a aquaworld professional ro unit. I was also shocked to read on a bit off paper in the box that pure ro water is not sutable for any type of fish keepinng as its too pure?! so im a little confused as to why we use ro water....
Can anyone put some pictures off there ro units set up so i can try and figure out how to fit it under my sink including where to put the two shut off valves and also once fitted can you just turn the ro unit on a day or two before you need the water or do you have to let it run all the timein which case will it create aload off waste??
Sorry for all the questions but googeled how to fit a ro unit and couldnt find any info!
    Thanks K:confused:

    ro unit advice

Hi i got a new aquaworld pro ro unit today but it came with no instructions so i am clueless as to how to fit it under my sink! Could anyone give me any pictures , advice on how to fit it? like where do the stop valves go? do the water always drip throu or can you turn it on a day before you need it then turn it off when you have the amount off ro you need to save on waste? Also the only info that came in the box was a bit off paper that states ' ro water is not sutable for ANY fish set up as its to pure!' Huh i thought ro was the best? little confused bout that.....
Any help or info asap would be great as we are tryin to fit it at the mo!!!
    Thanks K:-/

This suggestion is for freshwater fish. Remember we're adding salt and additives to the water, which makes it not so pure ;) I don't have an R/O unit as the TDS in my city is only 10 outta the tap!!! I'm a believer that algae is the bottom of the food chain and is somewhat required. I don't have a clue how to set that up, but i'm sure someone does. GL! You can create a reservoir of R/O water so it doesn't run all the time. Take a 5g pail or one of those culligan jugs and keep some water so you're not always turning it on and off.
