so i am reading about the MyReef 2.0 that works with the RKL.
i am a little confused about the wiring part of it.
i have a extra computer and monitor i would like to hook up next to the tank just to run this. computer is a little old but itll work.
Can i run this 24/7 with the RKL hooked up?
Goal would be to flip the monitor on and have it already running to check on stuff/see graphs ect...

    Anybody using this?

Do you have the NET module? If you do, it is not necessary to setup a machine directly beside the aquarium. Secondly, DA has a "myMobile Reef" Android app that is very convenient.

no i dont have the NET module. but hooking a computer up will not be a problem so i would go that route instead of buying the NET module.
Searching the market right now!! lol

I have the NET module, but will also use the SID to connect to a PC quite often. The controller setup is all done through the SID USB interface. I know on the Digital Aquatics boards there are a number of people who are doing exactly what you are thinking. There is even a USB->wifi adapter you can can find to keep a PC on all the time. The one thing you have to setup is that you don't want the USB to time out. By default windows will turn off the USB ports if they aren't used for a while so you will loose connection to the SID/RKL.

A new firmware was just released for the RKL/RKE and included in that I believe a NET update allows you to configure/control via the net. Right now (I haven't upgraded yet) you can only do very limited things w/ the NET module which IMO makes it not worth the money.

    HTH!
