RIP goby :-(

Sorry to hear that--I love my goby (see avatar). I think that the CC is your issue. You mentioned that he did not sift that much. That is how they get the majority of their nutrition. Yes they eat frozen. But they sift all day long. I feed frozen, but always drop a few pellets in while the others are eating so they get down into the sand. Once again sorry for the loss. BTW I dont think gobies are very succeptable to ick. Someone else may chime on that. Good Luck!!

 

How long is your goby? Mine was about 4.5 inches..
I think the coral has something to do with it. He had a large purple spot on his stomach right below his gills. I thought it was his coloring. It looks like a bruise. Could it be?
He ate frozen when it came down to him. I think I saw him grab the crushed coral maybe twice in the months that I have had him. He didnt look skinny though. :-(

mine is about that long--I have had him for about 7 mo. My neighbors goby has that same spot along with some I have seen at the LFS so I dont think it is a bruise.

 

Good Good.. Maybe he just starved. Which makes me feel bad too.
That is why my new tank will have live sand
