Well I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section but ill go for it.
Ive had my tank going for about year now and I have always had a problems with bubbles. The fish store constructed the tank and sump for me, I had no idea there was such thing as a bubble trap at the time or I would have got it. But anyways I have read there can be problems with the plumbing or protein skimmer but I don't see any leaks in the plumbing and the protein skimmer is top notch so that doesn't make sense either. So i guess my question is, is there a device I can add that removes them or is there some particular technique that works well for you guys?
    Thanks

i remember PC putting a filter sock in the skimmer to prevent the microbubbles.

Are the bubbles coming out of your protein skimmer and entering the main tank from your return pump(in the sump)? What kind of skimmer? What kind of return pump? Can you put a mesh pre-filter on the return pump. My mag drive has one.

I could try that if I could find a sock that would fit?

I see them entering the DT from sump but that could be from 1 of 2 pumps down there (one is the return and one is the uv filter) and both have a mesh around the hole. And the skimmer is a bubble king 160

I said mesh when I meant foam pre-filter. Is the skimmer in the same chamber as the return pump? I assume the bubbles are coming from the skimmer and not having a chance to hit the surface and dissipate before heading(via return pump) to the main tank. Usually a foam filter will fix the prob. I don't use a UV filter so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Sorry I am stumped. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

actually thats a good point, i'll try moving the skimmer over to the 1st chamber and see if that helps
    thanks!

Cool, let us know if that helps, it should. If not back to the drawing board.

What tank are you using ? Is it a Redsea Max ? If so, it's a problem with the design. Everyone gets micro bubbles with that tank. Only solution is to change the skimmer.

No it wasn't a redsea max. I'm sure there has to be a way but I need to find an experienced local reef keeper to show me how I think
