there are species of crabs that may eat similar things as Turbo snails
but I do not know any that can scale glass or acrylic to do so
so a mix of snails and crabs is always usefull IME

Finding the reason your snails are dying if they are indeed dying may be a better option

Temperature - IME snails tend to not do well if the tank gets above 83, in fact they often shows signs of distress at elevated temperatures before many corals do

Copper - do you have any other inverts in the tank that are doing OK
have you ever used a copper based treatment in your tank or in any tank the rock was in?
are you 100% certain of the source of your rock- could it have absorbed copper in a tank that it was previously in?

do you have any predators in the set up, such as hermits that may be killing the snails for food and home upgrades?
