    It's a cool lookin red algae whatever it is. And grows rather slowly...it can stay as far as I'm concerned.

    It may be a species juvenille fronds of red algae called Scinaia!

    Oh wow! If that's what it could grow up to look like, it is most definately staying. I love freebees. :D

    I've see that algae in question in tanks and it can get to the point of annoyance quicker than you think...

    It might not be a bad idea to consider removing it.
    I can't find my algae book so I'm gonna have to side with the coral reefer :)

    I also think it is Scinaia complanata (chaetangiaceae, nemaliales), came across it in my marine plants field guide.
