So I noticed this growing in my tank a week or so ago and have no luck with an ID. It is translucent and appears leafy, as it flutters in the flow edges are brite red and kind of flores in the actinics. It is growing out in one spot on the rock and not spreading but definately getting bigger.
    Any Ideas

You say it is "leafy". By this do you mean it moves, with the water, as a leaf would with the wind? I see it is think & somewhat translucent.

Looks like a type of Fauchea sp. A macro algae. I think it's pretty cool looking!

That's what I though. Didn't want to say so, sense I wasn't sure.

yes leafy as it is layered and moves in the flow. I was thinking some type of macro but wasnt sure.
I like the way it looks and planned on leaveing it as long as it wasnt harmful or takeing over the tank. I saw an aptasia one time that looked like a very pretty urchin.....would have put it in the tank till I asked, lol
