If you ordered a 30L it will be 36" long X 12" wide X 12" deep. So you should have 4" clearance.

Call your LFS and tell them you need to switch that to a 29 long. Those dimensions will work for you. (Most LFS's only order once per week so there's a good chance they can easily make this switch for you).

a there's no such thing as a "30g long" unless custom made. I have a 29 gallon, which is what most people think of as a reg. 30 gallon. so, a 30g long is really just a 30 gallon. a 29 gallon is though is as a 30 tall. My 29 gallon is 30 long X 12 wide X 18 high. So how can a tank that is only one more gallon be 6" longer yet still be the same height?

correction: 30g long is long version of 29 gallon tall/ AKA reg. I still don't understand the math on the detentions...
