Hi, I have so many more question but want to learn soooo bad. Now my tank is not set up yet working on the plumbing still.

When I had my fish in my tank i will do the dripping method and put the fish in my tank but after when i buy new fish i do the dripping method again and then where do i put my fish in my tank or always in the quarantine tank for a while. Does' nt put more stress on te fish to keep moving them. And how big should my quarantine tank needs to be.

    Thanks

    Hi Marie,
Your QT can be small. Most people recommend about 20 gallons. When getting a new fish, I take water out of the main tank to use in the QT. Set in a filter like a large sponge bubbler which has been in your display or sump for several days. Heat the water also. I am lucky enough to have an old protein skimmer which I use also. It mostly provides aeration. I leave the fish in for 7-10 days. Most people suggest longer, but it seems like fish that are going to do poorly, do so right away. I do a 10 per cent water change daily and don't feed too much. It seems to have worked out.- Paul

    Do you also quarantine corals?
