Fresh water dip after removing the clam from the tank. Make sure the clam is closed tight before taking it from the water. the fresh water should have the same temperature and pH as your DT. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes.

    Pyramid

There is just no easy answer for pyramid snails. Most fish that will eat them are hit and miss and pyramids are nocturnal so that makes it even worse. Manual removal of snail and eggs with a tooth brush to the shell seems to be the most effective. I would remove the snails and eggs after the tank lights have been out for a couple hours at night. Placing the clam on a elevated surface can help as well. One or two snails will really do nothing, but because our clams are in a closed system with no natural preditors to the snail, the population grows and increases the stress to the clam. If you are worried about a fresh water dip I would just use some tank water in a small container with the clam. Make sure you get the snails between the schuts of the shell and the very bottom of the clam. Good Luck.
