    I have an overflow that does 300 gph, any recommendations for my DIY sump? Also not sure what kind of pump i should get.

    I hope so.. at any rate, make sure you leave enough extra capacity for flow so that if the overflow gets clogged a bit your overflow can handle it until it gets cleaned. What size is the tank? Maybe a maxijet would be a good choice to consider. Cheap and replacement parts are everywhere.

    lmao. yep he's my wife....haha j/k j/k nah we're not lol *shrug* its a 55 gallon DT, with a 30 gallon we want to use as a sump.

    ive got the same setup. You may want to think about getting a bigger overflow box as I found the flow to be way slow with the 300gph cpr overflow. Right now I'm running an eschopps 800gph overflow and a mag 9.5 pump.

    you cant have a sump until the divorce is final

    oh cool, we're probably going to go ahead and build tuesday so if anyone has any more advice from here till then plz post it or pm either one of us. We're going to go with fuge on the left, pump in the middle skimmer on the right, kind of set up. I saw a similar design on here but we've been playing around with ideas, one of which was possibly putting the pump on a ledge to have more fuge room? anyone done that?
