I figured. So the Vortech's systemboard is completely bypassed, eh? So does the Apex has the capability to ramp up and down a typical propeller pump like a Korallia then?

Korillia DC pumps can't be controlled by anything other than a Korillia controller. They work different. The Apex (not the Apex Lite) has 4 controllable outlets.... so those 4 outlets can control anything ... Tunze pumps, dimmable LEDs, dimmable ballast.

I would suspect either an alk fluctuation, but it looks like what can happen when you suddenly start using GFO....When I first started using it, I used the recommended amount from BRS, and ended up having some STN, which I fragged and was able to save.

So you really like the Apex, the way it can control the Vortechs is a big selling point to me, since for me to get all my MP40s to ES drivers, would cost almost the same as the Apex. Is it tough to program? I am not the greatest at that stuff...lol

Maybe a combination... I was running GFO but increased a bit around that time... and I did raise my Alk but maybe too fast. GFO is out now for the EcoBAK, and Alk was lowered to a more conservative 9. The Plasma is healing up great and I expect a full recovery.

It is way easier. I had aAC Jr... and with that you have to just write a long program line by line.... Now th e Jr. can only hold 48 lines... not that bad.

The Apex has pages to set up everything. So you go to that outlet...name it and do with it what you want. I find it much easier.

Honestly though... it can be a bit intimidating. There is a "Unofficial users guide" out that is awesome, and I have always found all the help I need to get going.... so take the dive.

Some updates..... So the Apex is awesome. Got web and messaging going. I log in and look at stuff at work.

The WXM module for the Vortech is simply awesome. The modes the Vortech have is one thing that sets them apart, but controlling it leaves a lot to be desired. Not so now that my Apex controls every single aspect of the pumps.

EcoBak is running a long. Too soon to tell how it is doing. I got some Microbacter7 just for the heck of it to throw in for a while.

The daily one gallon auto water change is going great. Works awesome.

I was on a bit of a coral bender lately. I have probably 20 new pieces. I rearranged some stuff and got rid of my Idaho Grape Monti colony. It was growing way to fast for everything around it. Got to work tomorrow, But I'll get some pics up of all the new stuff soon. I really love some of my new stuff. Managed to pick up a frag of Myan Sun Favia!

So here is some pics after the rearrangement. FTS... I took oput my big colony of Idaho Grape. It was taking over.

Here it is with some carbonate left over. It is not alive. The Orange Monti was getting overgrown and I like that one much more and it is much more manageable. A new frag that grows like a pine cone is in there now.

Lots of new frags. Had to put back some old rock I had taken out before to place them. I think the old rock is causing my cyano out break.

My Bonsai colony is colored up again from it's bleaching. My other frag of Bonsai is taking off. My Cali Tort is doing great and really looks good. The frag on the left is super dark purple with super green polyps. I hate it when pics don't show it.

New Pink Mili colony. Nice tint of purple all through it. I really like Millis.

Here is my new Efflo colony. I wanted to give one a try. I like it so far and seems to be coloring up more.

One of my new blastos. White freckles with really cool shades of yellow red and orange. I really like it.

One that is quickly becoming a favorite. With all the flourecent colors in corals.... this Blastos pastels colors really stand out. All kinds of green, pink, peach, orange pastel colors. Supposedly I have one of only a hand full of them(???) and the frag already has spit out 4 baby heads.

And last the Myan Sun Favia. It was not in very good shape when I got it. Had lost some color. The person did not have the tank for LEs. I'm feeding it well though and expect a full recovery. Have seen some local that are healthy and they look as good as advertised. I really like it when I saw it and wanted a compliment to my Prisim favia that I really love.

Thanks Sparky. We need some updates on yours! One of these days I'll borrow a camera that has a proper white balance and get some macros taken. A couple of buddies have some nice ones.
