So once again trying to talk myself into buying things I dont really need just to take advantage of a great deal!

On my 46gallon I have a Hydor 750 and 2 425s and I have a backup 425 I use for WC. I was thinking of getting a 1050 for 25 bucks and maybe switching out the 750 or one of the 425s, would a 1050 be too much for a 46gallon?? If so I can just get another 750.

Also going to try that Clear Fx Pro stuff, cant find cosmos thread about it but makes me want to hop on and give it a shot for nitrate control :)

I have a Koralia 1050 on my 29 gallon tank. It's a little strong but I just aim it at my live rock.

That would depend on how you have the pumps set up. You could go either way the 1050 would get you around 50X flow with volume loss from rock. Another 750 would put you well over.

Well right now I have the 750 on the upper right backwall and angle it slightly towards the center of the tank to bounce it off the walls and direct flow around a large rock that has all my corals on it right now; xenia, jasmine polyp, ricordea, and the acans. I then have a 425 on the upper left backwall and a 425 halfway down behind rockwork on the backwall pointed at the rock with corals. Having mostly softies and the time I dont want to overkill with flow (also have the HOB filter that does 260gph)

i used to have a setup just like that. I think the hob probably causes more surface aggitation than luminar flow. Right now in my 90 i have 2 kor. 750 and 2 425 s. The 750s are at the top back pointing slightly up and towards centre and the smaller ones are about half way down pointing the same way but downwards. At times i question wether i should have more flow even though its up there gph wise. I actually picked a used 750 for 20 to rplace the maxijet i was using. For 25 bucks i would go for.it. i think the 1050 goes for 50-60 no. Up here in t.o. they do anyways. You may want to switch out the 750 or. Try both or at the very least you have a backup and something for down the road if and when you upsize. I love messing around.with different stuff wether its diy or trying..different flow rates and patterns.
