power head?

    so.. here is the thing. i already asked this a long time ago but just wanted to get reassurance..

    ok so a while ago, i had a QT tank.. i thought it needed flow so i bought this power head. i was treating the tank with copper. now that i took down the qt, i didnt want the power head to go to waste so what im asking is.. can i use this power head in my will-be reeftank?

    I would think that would be fine....I would give it a vinegar bath and then let it run in a bucket of just regular water before being put into the tank but just my two cents. Hopefully this matches up close to what you were told in the previous thread

    why the vinegar? and just regular old vinegar right? if i dont have vinegar can i just let it run in regular water for a while then use it?

    I wouldn't risk it for the price of a powerhead. Plastic soaks up copper and could leach it into your invert filled tank later.

    i wouldnt do it just leave it in the qt for the qt thats not a waste

    ok then. i just wont use it.. kinda wanted to use it for my 150 but i guess ill just get a new one.
