Right now I have a 48" 4x65w power compact system on a 75 gallon oceanic tank with brand new 2 day old UVL bulbs 2 - 75/25 and 2 - 454 blues. Some one in my area is selling a 4 bulb tek t5 unit for 125 no bulbs.

Would it be prudent to Upgrade to a 4 bulb t5 unit r same up for a 6 bulb?

You should also consider doing a retrofit if you have a canopy. If you go with an icecap 660 ballast you can overdrive the bulbs to 85w and its waay brighter than a tek light. It really comes down to what you plan on keeping. My tank is mostly sps.

t5s are the way to go. I wish I could go that way... but I'm investing my money in other things. So PCs for the time being.
