There's no guarantees but they probably will find each other eventually.

I just added a pistol shrimp to my tank on Friday. I havent seen the guy since (pretty sure hes in a hole that wasnt there before I added him). I am hoping he joins up with my goby in the near future.

They hopefully will find each other. Unfortunately, our first pair didn't. BUT, the goby was very small and extremely skittish and didn't acclimate at all in the tank. He just never seemed right. We added another goby not long after and they paired up the first night. Good luck!

During that period between the two gobies (maybe a week), I didn't hear the pistol shrimp at all. I wasn't sure he was still alive and never saw him. The first time I saw him was after he paired up with the new goby and they were bulldozing. I was so thrilled, I dragged my son out of bed on a Saturday morning to look. He wasn't quite as thrilled as I was....

Sometimes, the shrimp doesn't make much noise and sometimes he can be pretty loud. Yours might just be laying low for now!
