peppermint shrimp died...

hey guys i have a 10 gallon and i was cycling for about a month and i bought a peppermint shrimp to get rid of some aptasia.. and will it did, but i had it about 2 weeks and i found it molted and the next day it died? strange. i had a 5 gallon for about 1 month and i switched everything over added cycle rocks the question was did it died because temp dropped? my temp was at 80 and i lowered it to 77-76. i just did a WC. Now im rethinking about ordering a CUC...im not sure if they will survive anymore but my nem and False P. clowns are doing great. i kept up with the WC added RO/DI water my perimeters are good. after he ate the aptasia i was feeding the clowns silversides and the leftovers just went to him. strange... anyone have any feedback on how he died? and should i cancel my CUC? i have alittle case of diatoms due to new filter thats about it...

i also have a hammer coral and a ric.

No no I threw him away. He was surely dead. Could've the nem sting him? Cuhs he was nipping at the nem when I introduced him..

 

You sure it wasn't just the molt? Usually after they molt they hide for a few days at least. I've grabbed out pieces I could swear were the body only to later find the shrimp was just hiding.

Thats what i'm talking about. I pulled the molt from my CBS and it had colored stripes and a little purple in the middle just like the shrimp. It wasn't super thin or see through either. This looked just like half the shrimp. I thought he was gone until 4 days later I saw him roaming around.

 

I had the same thing happen with my peppermint. He showed back up after about a week and a half. Or he could have just died, I've lost two peppermints to un-known causes.
