Our trip to Macna

Ok, so Jimw369 and I met up for lunch at yummy Chipotle's in Marietta, yesterday, then headed to downtown Atlanta, for the Tradeshow. We had a good time!:thumb_up:

Let me state, in Public, for the Record, "IT WAS NOT ME" !

I couldn't stay as long as I wanted to, (I was in atl. doing a job), but we had fun never less. I appreciate Jim's hospitality! Take him up on his offers people, he's a great guy to hang with! Look forward to it again!

Back to the trade show part of the convention. I've done MANY jobs at trade shows in Orlando and I've got to say this one(IMO) was lacking a little. Not enough freebies and samples. You pay $29.00 to get into it and another 19.00 for 4 hours of parking. One frag sample and a few vendors(The Chemi-Pure, $7.00-Chemi-pure Elite 11.74 oz, people and a guy selling lots of different stuff, some dates expired on his test kits, but I got my new kh/alk and nitrate for $21.00, 3 little fishies clip for a buck) with discounted prices is what I came out with. Got to see some really nice equipment! Good show prices on the eq. Quite a few nice corals too, but too much for my pocketbook. There were a lot of Protein skimmers, one even had a brush that self cleaned the inside of the cup chamber....Sweet! Dr's Foster & Smith had a nice set-up. Most of the major vendor were there and I was disappointed I didn't get to meet Jason Frey from Premium Aquatics(we've spoken a few times, nice guy and his last name is my maiden name)

The frag I got was fragged by Anthony Calfo during a demo and it seems to be having a hard time. Not sure if it's from sitting in the bag half the day or what. It's melting a little, from where it was cut and it wasn't mounted on a plug. So, 10:30 last night when I got home, I took care of it. It appears to be a little better today. I believe it's a devils hand leather. I've put a pic of it too.

All in all, a very nice day!

I wanted to go, to far....hope its closer next year. I think it was in pa last year?

It was Mission! One person said they'd have to take a look at the site and that was it. Jim has a real good pic for Matt!

I cut that frag and took off the part that was dissolving and it looks a lot happier now! the fingers are starting to stand up!

And once again Ive met another great person from 3-reef! I am spending the entire weekend there. No one wants to miss the opportunity to go if given the chance. Its Reefer Heaven...Acrylic as far as the eye can see..hahahaha

 

did you get a pic of the huge glass tank with the back overflows? and you need to post your pics I'm sure you took good ones!

A great learning experience. Its really easy to compare equipment when its all in the same room and some of it operating.

Met several people today. Some good talks. Im surprised how accessible some of these people are.

 

Wish I could have met up with you guys as I am not far away but when work calls you have to be there. I have to go in tomorrow to. But we have planes grounded right now waiting on parts. I'll bet it was fun.

 

WOW! sweet pics, I suppose that I can wait to they come to Bristol, TN/VA or maybe Knoxville,TN...who knows, but I am looking forward to it!
