I purchased 2 Ocellaris Clownfish about a week ago (both under an inch in size, so cute!). They've been in a 10g quarantine tank since. After reading many posts here, I know to keep them there for about 4 weeks.

The tank has a filter running, heater, pvc pipe, and a couple fake plastic plants (they were hiding in a fake plant at the LFS so I thought I'd make them feel a bit more at home).

Thus far they look healthy. I haven't seen any signs of commons pests. Should I be treating them with any preventative meds or other additives? Or do I just let the tank be and keep parameters as constant as possible for the next 3 weeks?

Thanks for your input everyone! My tiny clowns thank you.

    Are these tank bred?

If so, i would not really worry a WHOLE lot with them..Tank bred clowns are so hardy, i cycled a tank with them(not saying that its good to do) and they did not develop a disease.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Excellent job on the QT. Three to 4 weeks sounds like a very good plan. If possible get some Prime (binds ammonia) just in case you have a spike.

Karma for going the extra mile for your fish. :)

Thanks! Yes, these guys were tank raised. They look great thus far. I've already done one partial water change and will continue to do so every week or more often if required.

Thanks for the Prime suggestion, I'll definitely go grab some tomorrow when I stop by my LFS for some other things.

I guess I'll just keep an eye on them and make sure nothing shows up over the next little while.

If you can't get Prime, you can also use Amquel+. And kudos for quarantining your Clowns.

They are so cute! Mine were an inch when I got them and now they are getting bigger and bigger. :) I would just get the ammonia binder for now. I use amquel and love it.

Another thing to think about when QTing, if you end up ever treating with some meds, it's a good idea to add a little air stone. Most all meds reduce oxygen in the water.

I have mine setup exactly like yours, little HOB filter, heater, plastic plants and the exact same pvc pipe. haha

    happy reefing
