I like the AquaC Remora Pro - I used one on a heavily stocked 120 gallon tank, and it managed to do a good job.

If you get a HOB fuge, get a CPR Aquafuge. There is also a version with a built in protein skimmer.

I have a 55 gallon, heavily stocked tank. Very stable. Here is my set-up:

HOB BakPak skimmer (Remora Pro would be better - sorry, I don't know the Octopus)
    HOB Aquafuge refugium
    HOB Rena SmartFilter power filter
    Powersweep powerhead
    shallow sand bed
    about 75 lbs live rock
Coralife PC fixture 4 x 65-watt (T5s would be better)

This tank has been very stable. I have nuisance algae in it right now, but I'm quite overstocked. Holding a few fish until I can get my 90 ready.
