water tested at 10-15ppm yesterday. I do water changes every two weeks of 10% maybe more. I took out this month 7 gallons, and 6 gallons. the tank is 65 gallons and sump is twenty gallons of coarse sump is not full plus rock displacement. i have alot of rock so i am assuming i have 65 gallons. That is what i am doing my dosing by and waterchanges. I also have a 200micron sock on drain that gets cleaned regularly and a spnonge that i rinse out in tank water every chnge. so what gives. In sump i have some rubble rock, chaeto, and 2010 cone nw-110 skimmer pulling out some nasty and is very consistent no matter how nasty the neck gets.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    How old is your tank?

Your nitrates values are not bad currently. You can try other methods like Microbacter7, carbon dosing, bio-pellets.

If the tank is under 1 year and your not attempting to keep some of the more sensitive sps I really would not worry about those values. Just let the tank mature, use only RO/DI and do not over feed.

15 is pretty low really, but nitrate test kits are junk. If you go get a nitrate test kit from another brand and test, you will likely get a completely different reading. the best way to test nitrate is watch the algae growth. Do you have an algae problem?
