    I have an empty 29 gallon tank I want to start it as a salt water tank but I am new to all this and would like advice on the proper steps. Like step one get tank lol what would the next steps be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome, get yourself some argonite sand, and some salt mix, instant ocean is pretty good, mix a solution with ro water and get the salinity to 1.023 and just let it settle add a powerhead and warm up for a few days, then take it from there.

    Ok but for a 29 gallon tank I am hereing that it is a good idea to get a bigger filer system then the tank to keep it better cleaned is there any truth to that? Also what name brand would u recomend?

    I would recommend instant ocean, and by bigger filer system, what exactly do you mean?

    Like if I have a 29 gallon tank would it behoove me to use a 50 gallon filter system ?

    Yes. some people do the same when it comes to the skimming also...
