Well I have'nt bought them yet but I think have decided to get 2 mp10's. Needs some reassurance. I have a 125 I plan on doing a mixed reef (been a long build, finishing plumbing today.) I just want to make sure they will be suitable for this tank, one on each end. I have been reading a bit on them but any key points and advice is greatly welcomed!

    I think 2 mp40s will work out a lot better. I have a 40 on my 3ft 65g and I'm still debating on adding another 40 or a 10.

I agree with 2 MP40's over the 10's. I have 2 10''s on a 36" long tank, and it is plenty. However, anything over 48" I would opt for the 40's. Also, how thick is the glass on your 125? The 10's only work on glass 3/8" (10mm) thick or thinner. The 40's are good up to 3/4"

two mp 40 would be perfect. that is what i run on my 93g cube.
Or you could consider one mp60 as that will probably be a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the input, I'm pretty sure its 3/8 need to double check. I was hoping to hear it would work haha. I had convinced myself two mp10's could be in the budget, 2 mp40's no way :( Mp60 isn't much better.

You could always just buy 1 mp40 and later add the other. One could work for you...but you'd lose the random flow aspect that makes syncing vortechs so useful.

I agree, no way that 2 10s would work on a 125. Just buy a mp40 for now, and save up for another one, you will be happier this way. Or another thing you can look for used mp40s, those might be in your budget pending the right deal.
