So I'm driving around yesterday and I see a new shop. "Any lab test... NOW" is the name of this place.

My first thought, well, I want to get my self tested for some random things... but like my 5th thought, was about my tank water.

So if I wanted to get my water tested for anything, what might you suggest.

I'll definitely do the main things... Mg, Alk, Ca, Phosphates, nitrates, SG to see how they compare to my test readings.

What else might you suggest? I assume these will be lab quality tests. And I assume saltwater is included in "any"

One thing to keep in mind is this is a tank that rarely rarely sees a water change... so, that might play into suggestions a little (don't turn this into a water change debate please).

I can't get my mind off of non reef related tests unfortunately.

if you really want heads to turn, tell them to test your tank water for gonorrhea

    Thanks all :)

OK, neat. I'll do some of these (I say without having checked on pricing yet). It's also a tank that spent its first 9 months using tap. So these should be interesting.

No point really. Just for curiosity sake... It's not like I could do anything about it anyway. Now that I use RO/DI as top off and not really doing WC, it's not like I'm adding heavy metals...

I do like the uranium idea. I look forward to seeing if it's a matter of checking boxes or I can whisper it loudly like I am trying to hide it ;)

I'll post back how it goes... I think I'll go by one day this week.

Alright, I got plenty of ideas now, let's divert. I don't need practical tests... just fun tests.
