Well all seems good. Got the sump/Fuge built and installed yesterday. Think it really stressed the DT though. Followed all the info I found online about replacing a canister filter with a sump. Put all the filter media from canister in the sump along with the LR/LS. I'm running a bag of carbon in the last bubble trap.
    Parameters before:
    KH 7dkh
    PO4 0
    Calcium 520 (a little high?)
    NO3 0
    PH 8.2-8.4
    NO2 0
    Ammonia 0

    24hrs later:
    All the same except
    Ammonia .25
    NO3 5.0

Starting a cycle, right? I'll test again tomorrow and probably due a WC.
Used LR/LS from my LFS that I used from very beginning. Yellow Polyp has drawn in but not completely, Hammer has shrunk but not completely withdrawn. Sun Polyp has not changed at all, came out for it's regular feeding tonight.
Could adding 7 gallons of water to the tank have stressed the animals Ya think?

    20g Tall DT
    10g Sump/Fuge

funny.. i set up and installed my fuge yesterday aswell. (check out the thread in my sig and go to the last 5 posts) 37g DT 20g Fuge.. i just got done checking my parameters 24hrs later and they didnt go up at all. i wonder if you agitated your filtration media enough to give you false readings when moving it into your sump.. i actually tossed mine when i made the change. dont know if that was the best idea but i did and had no problems.

i wouldnt worry about it and i highly doubt your tank is going to cycle.. if you think about it it all you did was add 10 gallons to your 20 gallon system... which makes it equivalent to a 33% water change(no big deal)

I kinda figured the cycle, if I had one would be very small and quick. I was more worried about the stress on the corals. I only have a CUC in the tank since we are building a softie only reef. And I did agitate the old filter media during the transfer, with trying to get all the Pineapple sponge and Pods out of the Fluvel. Who knew they flourished in the dark! The live rock I got came with a couple of mini stars and all kinds of good stuff so I think this should go well.
