Just purchased the RKL used from a 3reefer and received it last night - going to Ace Hardware to pick up a few bits and bites for this and that :) Will post some pictures but right now I'm totally in the dark about installing software and using the SID flash card - my computer can not reach my reef tank ::)

Anyone with some XP on setting these up and any software tips would be great. It's a little intimidating starting out of the box

Have two PC4's and I'm not sure how to connect them to the display as well as the SL1. Seems like I will be left one plug short if I need to upgrade the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks all!

First thing to do. Go to the Digital aquatics support forum. Before you start programming or anything, download myreef on your computer and follow the directions posted about starting your RKL and updating each individual component. You need to do it in a certain order. This way you dont have to re-program multiple times.

Then, once you do that, checkout the sticky threads on the forums. They have pre-set heater, lighting, ATO, features that you can follow word for word and program easily. It will be tricky at first but you will get used to it. Also use the forum, they have great service on there and quick responses.

well im just a little confused on setting it up at first because i have two PC4's the SL1 and the display and a ph prob and temp prob. the temp prob has the same connection as the rest of the modules, so it has to be plugged into the #2 spot on the SL1, but on the bottom of the sl1 there are those temp ports but I dont know how to wire those.

Also not sure how to connect both PC4's to my display, do i this by running one wire from one of the PC4's to the other and have them both plugged into the wall? Will the RKL pick up both controllers

Download the pdf manual on the digital aquatics forum/website. It might take a bit to find it but everything is there. It will show you typical setups for all the modules. And yes you can use both PC4's. You can only have a maximum of 4 modules, right now you have 3. The sl1, and 2 PC4's. Honestly, post on the DA support forum, its the best way to get help, many more people use it there, even the support team and they have quick responses.

you connect the controller gc2 to a PC4 then to the other PC4 then your module all of your probes should be hook up correctly. I assume you got the plus version also? here is the PDF also http://www.digitalaquatics.com/downloads/RKL User Guide.pdf
