    Clowns are actually damselfish.

Yup, I want to get a Domino for a 5.5g nano sometime and put an anenome in it to see what happens. Also, is the hosting thing just a damsel trait? Or is must mainly the Domino and Clowns that do it.

Not sure about the damsel trait. I've seen a humbug(striped damsel) and a domino hosting an anemone.

yes a Damsel trait, they will host pretty much anything that will let them, whereas clowns are pretty specific to species, however there are those occasions where they will branch out to other corals too, if not supplied an anemone that they like.

I have seen clown fish host the side of a tank, sand bed, not to mention frogspawn, hammer coral, torch, green star polyps, heck pretty much anything.

Any time, any day, you can walk up to my tank and my clown is mauling the toadstool! I can't wait to see what he does when the xenia gets bigger!
