I have never used kalwasser or stronium. I hope I spelled them correctly. I understand how the water chemistry works and the only trouble my tanks has ever had is low alk but not really low just mildly low. the ph stays at 8.0 which I feel is from that but the alk is nor still in the 1400s and the calcium is 480. Kh is 8-9 depending on the day. temp is 78 salinity is 1.024.

Point of this is should I be dosing this stuff? I recently lost most of my corriline algae that was growing on the glass and some on the rocks so I am trying to see if there is just something I just am not understanding.

Pick my brain if you think if you have questions its driving me batty that the corilline is fading and I never knew about the kalawasser and stronium. Your feedback is appericiated.

I believe it is the DK and mag and cal that enhances the coralline growth if that helps any...
If not the water doctor's will be here shortly...

You are worried that your dKh is low at 8-9?

No I was not worried about it. I was just stating that I know the mag and calk have to do with corilline and did not know that dk had to do with it. I was just stating my paramiters so anyone that had any imput could get the most info of where my tank sits parameter wise. I thought anything between 8-11 is good for dk

Your numbers look fine so I would not worry about using kalk, Strontium I do not dose nor do I suggest dosing it. It is not needed.

Your alk is a little lower than I like, but it is ok. I like it a little high just because it can drop pretty quickly in a high demand tank.
