Since the yellow tail damsel had to find another home, secondary to the hostile female clownfish I have had an explosion of pods.

I believe that they are causing some irritation to my zonathids, mushrooms and possibly my other corals. There are numbers are out of control and I need something to eat them.

    Problem is that

    1. The tank is 28 gallons.
    2. Unsure if the clowns will accept another fish.
    3. Tank is too small for a mandarin. After a couple of months the pod population will decline again.

Looking for an invert that will eat pods and I just can not think of a resolution, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    TIA

Small 6 line wrasse. Even if your clown wanted to attack it, it would never be able to catch the wrasse.

some kind of smaller blenny? Sixline wrasses will also hunt pods - they are easy, small, pretty and peaceful IMHO!!!

I don't know of any inverts that eat pods but a Pseudochromis would work.8) Neon dottybacks are my favorite.

My vote is a 6-line wrasse. Very pretty and active fish.

Would you want to take on training a mandy to eat frozen? If you put him in another tank to do so, I bet you could convert them. You have enough years of experience to tackle it.

I'm going to get a red and a blue male/female pair of splendidus and give it a try.

I love ferrets. i had 2 when I moved to another province when I was younger.... when I moved back, I wasn't allowed to take them with me into my home province. :-( I miss that little pink nose and paw pads.

    This maybe a viable option.

Sorry forgot to include that I have a YWG and in this size of tank anything sharing space with him might have a problem. Would love a blenny though.

Now see my thinking was that since I only have one very small hermit crab maybe if I increase the hermit crabs numbers I might see a decrease in pods over a couple of months. I imagine hermits probably eat pods when they can catch them, could be wrong.
Love the color of the pseudochromis but I do not know could get kind of dicey with the clowns. Are they known pod eaters?

But I should say, I have zero experience with what would go with a clown. I've never owned one.

Oh he is too cute I love ferrets ;D

Everytime I see this image I laugh. What in the world is the cat thinking besides my owner needs to go back to work.........

Thanks Incognito. I guess I will be fish shopping. Why it is such a hard choice I have no clue. I guess I am ambivalent about upsetting the balance. I really really do not want to have to feed everyday because of the size of tank and the sps.
