hi everyone, im new to the reef, i hope it will be a great experience. ive been doing saltwater for about 11/2 yrs. i started with a 15 gallon eclipse aquarium, only to try a 180 gallon tank. the large tank has been a disappointment. so i am downsizing now to a 75 gallon tank. any one know about protein skimmers, i have matured mytank for 6 weeks, when do i hook up skimmer?::)

Welcome to 3reef! the skimmer can wait until you have a load(poop from fish) Do you have any in it yet? Have you been testing your water to make sure your cycle is over? What did you do with your 180???;D

i still have 180 it i housing about 500 lbs of live rock, i bought it from someone for cheap, their custom made, mainly a problem from start, but it was a great learning process, i will probably destroy tank after rock is gone, stop the problem so no one else has it
