My 55 gallon setup

    This is my first salt water tank it is a 55 gallon dt, with a 20 gallon sump with fuge, 60 pounds of sand total, and around 50 pounds of dry rock.

    wow , still a ways to go. how much live rock? what type of lights? do you have a skimmer? what are your plans , fish only , corals?

    I dont have much live rock yet maybe just a couple small rocks to seed from, as for lights ive got just standard 15w lights for now, no skimmer yet. Im still deciding on a skimmer, as for lights i think im going with a 4 bulb t-5 fixture. I want to do corals and fish but it will be a while before i get anything in the tank.

    Looks awesome. One quick question. Have you tested your overflow/return for power failure safety? By the looks of how much water is in your sump/fuge it looks like it will overflow onto the floor.

    yes i have, i have tested this by turning off the return pump and have had zero problems so far, i actually run the sump a bit lower than what is seen in that picture just to be on the safe side.
