My 1st fish death :(

    Before today (I've had him for about one month), he was acting normal, swimming all around the tank, and even eating frozen and flake food from time to time. Yesterday I did a 5gal WC on my 29gal...

    Today I came home to my Mandarin Dragonet acting very strange and then spastically fighting for his life minutes later:cry: Once I saw the one side of his head, I realized something fishy was going on. It was all pale and swollen as if he got stung really bad by something.

    Do I have any stinging corals? Nope. I just have 2 tiny pieces of aiptasia that I just noticed that sprouted up since my last Aiptasia X treatment (this past weekend). Besides that, polyps, rics, and a duncan.

    I find it really weird that he was fine until yesterday (even ate formula 1 flakes yesterday), then died today after looking like he got hit by a hammerhead shark. One thing I can be sure of is that he did not starve and did not die from poor water quality. My wife thinks maybe he got stcuk all day against the water intake. Its possible from the looks of it.

    Any ideas? Uploading pics of his last minute now...

    ? im thinking the aiptasia but i is not sure. Sorry for ur losse; mandarins r such cool fish too

    Notice by his gill. Being that so much of his one side is all pale and swollen, I think I might blame the water intake for this homicide.
