    well i just got my first lighting timer today i have 250w metal halides 2 t5s actenics and moon lights the thing is my moon lights and t5s are connected to one wire so i cant set to have the moon light on at night or id be force to run my t5s to so i wannanow is it ok if i dont use my moon lights? will my corals and fish freak out??

    You dont have to have moonlights. They are mainly for night viewing and some people speculate that it stimulates coral spawning. that is really weird that there wired like that though.

    WOW!!! How did your spelling get so much better all of the sudden??

    You do not have to run moonlights--I just added mine after 7 mo.

    Im still curious about this. Why would any company wire like that. The moonlights are useless unless you take the t5's our every night.

    ... my guess, they're not wired together, they just share a common neutral. get someone who knows electronics to look it over.

    Yup, there may only be one power cord for the fixture, but there should be a separate switch for the moonlights. So to put them on a timer would need some re wiring. If not that is one weird fixture.
