Moon light question

has anyone else set up the 24 hr reef capable LED's? It says 24 hour on the box but is it a good idea? I tend to shut them all off at night and don't turn the lights on until the next morning. Recommendations anyone!? I don't see the real reason to leave them on 24hrs my basement is so dark at night that the moonlights won't let me sleep lol but Im curious as to what affects if any would happen keeping them on 24 hr vs no lights at night.

 

Its mostly for looks only. I have mine on for 5 hours then shuts off for the rest of the night until the morning lights come on.
