I know there have been a million posts about microbubbles but here's another one.

I have a SWC 160 Cone Skimmer, I have it set in 8 inches of water in my sump and it has been running for 4 weeks while my 90 gallon tank cycled. It has actually pulled out some nice brown wet skimate even though there is hardly any bio load however the microbubbles are very annoying.
They are only coming from the skimmer as I am using a filter sock which is stopping any from the drain and a bubble trap before they get to the return pump.

Anyone have any suggestions to help get rid of them?

    Thanks in advance.

Is your pump external? Another possibility could be a very small leak on the low pressure side of the pump. Not applicable if it is internal.

Turn off your skimmer and see if the problem persists.

What do you put in your water? Do you have a filter sock? I know when I change my sock, the skimmer goes bonkers for about 10 minutes.

Since your output is almost at the same level as the top of your baffles, I would switch the configuration to under, over, under.

Try choking down the return pump flow. I have an SWC skimmer along with a return pump that was generating too much flow in the sump in general. It cut back on the micro-bubbles significantly by prolonging the time it took for the bubbles to go through the baffles.
