MG To High?

    I just tested my MG, It's at 1,480. Is that to high? I was aiming for 1,350, I guess I dosed a lil to much tho lol

    thats good.. 1300-1500 ideal.. it will come down eventually..
    your calcium should be around 450-480 right now

    usally sw ratio.
    1part calcium to 3 parts mag.
    400 cal = 1200 mag
    500 cal = 1500 mag

    in a perfect world anyways.

    I dose to 1500. when it drops to 1400, I dose another 100 points. works out to roughly once a month or so.

    1480 is fine. Most natural seawater is between 1300 - 1500

    Higher Mg levels helps slow the growth of algae in your tank. My nano cube was at 1300 and I had a serious GHA growth. Over the last 2 weeks, I have slowly bumped it up to 1600 and it is dying off now. I also raised my dkH to 14 and Ca to 500+ for my crocea, so it's all balanced for the most part.
