    Hello,
I'm considering getting the Coralite Aqualight 150W w/ 14K hangon unit for my 36g reef aquarium. I've always used 10K CFs w/ actinics in the past so I'm wondering if I will still need actinics w/ a 14K MH bulb. Also should I get LED moonlights too?

    Thanks for your advice!

T5 (or less preferably PC) can be used to supplement and is a good idea for 10K, 12K and 14K MH bulbs, but with a 14K bulb, it's not necessary. I would however get a bluer bulb, such as the Phoenix 14K bulb.

Let me clarify and say it's not necessary but recommended IMO. Some may say you should definitely supplement the 14K, however you should be fine. What many people forget is that daylight is about 6500K, and the coral do just fine. The con is that you may not get the best color out of your corals, but you should be fine IMO.
