Wrasses can take awhile to adjust to a new environment. Often they will hide for a few days or more. I had a wrasse hide for 4 weeks. He should adjust soon and be much more fun!

Is your six line picking on him? They can be very aggressive....make sure he doesn't harm the melanurus. If it's getting too bad you might want to think about removing your six line. Either selling him, or putting him in a temporary tank.

You could try rearranging the rock a little bit as well.

The day you think "there's no way this thing can still be alive.." he will pop out like and act like he's been there forever. Be sure to put pics up. They're my favorite!

awesome fish! I had two, a male and a female... After I had them for about a month, the male recently died out of the blue despite him eating very voraciously and being completely active (I am almost positive it was due to internal parasites).
I will be replacing him shortly for the females sake as she seems a bit lonely without him now.

Is your a male or a female?

+1 on what KC said. I had a 6-line in my tank and added a Christmas Wrasse. The 6-line basically tried to kill it the minute it hit the water. The Christmas buried itself in the sand for 3 weeks until I was able to get the 6-line out. I had thought the Christmas died but one day he popped his head out of the sand, resilient little guy.

Moral of the story is, mixing most wrasses doesn't normally work, especially with the 6-line having established it's territory. You may get lucky if your tank is huge or may have to decide which one you like better & get the other out to keep peace.
