Would a maxi jet 1200 be alright for my 14 gal bio cube?

In terms of amount of flow

it equates to 28 x your tank volume per hour
which is pretty good in a soft coral reef tank IMO

But as those are very direct - small spout so lots of water heading in 1 direction
you do need to deflect them of the tank glass in order to spread that flow about a bit IME

A Korallia Nano may be a better option for you as those are nice wide spread power heads

You won't like it, it will blast anything in its path. The Koralia Nano puts out more water for less than 1/2 the power consumption and in a nice dispersed flow pattern, the corals love it.

looks like its debating time!!!! maybe i'll try them both out and save the maxi jet if I like the koralia better for a bigger tank in the future

Usually, filters are designed to be run at a certain flow rate, and any higher or lower by a significant amount will make them less efficient. If you want more flow in your tank, you should use a powerhead and not a pump, because of the way the flow will be.

My filter is just burning out so I was just looking to upgrade it. But I want to do whatever is best for the tank

If you have small fish the maxijet will suck fish onto their intake screen if they get too close, I speak from experience... I Just repurposed the maxi-jet and replaced it with a koralia. Much better spread like people are saying instead of just pushing a straight jet o water through the tank and blasting the fish when they get near it.

My vote is for the koralia.
