hey guys, i am in need of a new magnetic scraper for my tank..

My Lfs doesnt carry the ones he used to have so i kinda decided i wanted a new one anyways..

i was looking at the Mag-float from fosters and smith but im not sure.. seems like its not that comfortable to handle.

the one i have right now has a little handle you can grab on to that makes life easier. the only flaw is that its kinda small and the magnet is a little weak for the 150G thick glass.

so i was wondering if you guys knew of any i could get that had similar characteristics or is the mag-float the best out there?

I like the mag float. The Piranha and the others in that series (Hammerhead, Great White, etc) have too strong of a magnet, and it scares the fish when I scrape with it because it jitters alot. The mag float moves smoothly. There's no comfort issue; you use it for two seconds and you're done lmao. It's just a bar you move across the glass.

I loved my mag float, Till I didn't realize I got sand in it one day. Tanks a bit scratched up. My fault but.... Ill stick to my razerblade on a stick.

i use both the reazer blade and the magfloat..

mag float is to prevent build up at the top of the tank and i use the razer with a stick :D for the places i cant reach with mag float or for the places close to the sand.

By far the best I have ever owned....
    aquarium algae cleaning magnets
coralline algae is wiped clean with one swipe, its so effective. The algae dozer and algae cutter bags work magic...

I like the mag-float I have. It works. great. Just be sure to work in a downward motion when working near the sandbed. You can swipe down then pull away. down and pull away, go top-to-bottom.

I also use a cutting too like one would for cutting a cake/brownies(bought from a LFS with their logo on it). It's perfect for algae on the glass that the mag-float can't get (i.e. diatoms).

I use a large mag-float with an algae free ez-blade attached to it. One swipe and everything comes off. I love it.

Love my mag floats.. Got them on all my tanks.. I think you would need the 350 model for a 150 gallon tank. Its 23 and change on Big Al's and 25 and change at Foster and Smiths. F&S is running a special if your order is $49 or more its free shipping.
