When I had biocube 29 my magfloat made lots of scratches on glass. Pebbles being stuck, or some those round shelled worms growing on the magfloat.

Im getting a new one this saturday, and I dont want my solana to have scratches on it. What is the best way to prevent this from happening?

Or is there another algae remover thats better than the magfloat?

Aren't the Biocubes made of acrylic? That's how they get the sharp curves on the corners.

I saw recently, someone had a piece of wash-cloth b/w the inside glass and the mag. That is pretty slick, and probably the easiest thing you could do to prevent scratches. It should pick up the algae more easily too...just maybe not the coraline.

Take it out after using it each time?

Ah, didn't realize it was an acrylic tank. Make sure you get the one for acrylic tanks.

    +1 on that.

    Magfloat Replacement Pad/Felt Acrylic

Get one for acrylic. And clean it each time you use it! Try stay at least 1 inch away from your sandbed (I do that portion with a credit card)

Then you'll need to keep it clean and stay out of the sand with it.Thats about all you can do.
