I had to laugh at your post. At least you need to clean the glass less.

In my case, I have to keep reminding my children to leave it alone that it is only for me or Dad to use. Just the other day my 6 yr daughter tried to help & went to close to the sand bed. She is lucky that the few pieces of sand didn't make huge, deep scratches on the front of my tank.

My grandbaby loves my mag float! So I bought one just for her. First thing she does when she comes to visit :)

I don't leave my mag float in my tank. I have an algae free ez-blade that I cannot leave in the tank. However, where I work we have a magfloat on one of the display tanks and people love to clean the glass for me. It is amazing how something so simple can amaze people.

I had to lay down some justice to the kids about touching my mag-float. They were playing 'knock down the snails and laugh as the wrasse picked at them'.

My daughter is only allowed to scrub the tank on the out side with my worn down algae scrubber. She like to help dad when she sees me looking at the tank. I dont want to discourage her as I want her to be my full time assistant later. ;)

On a side note while I dont have an algae magnet which brand do you guys recommend?

mag float because it floats...other magnets can be a pain if they detach
