I've never gone to a MACNA event and am thinking about going this year. I just want to know what it's like from people that's gone before. I'm assuming vendor's sell livestock and hardware aside from showing their latest and greatest gadgets right? I'm only planning on going for one day and am really only interested in seeing the livestock and the equipment. The show floor does not close during speaker events right? Also, since I'm just planning on going for one day, which day would you say has the least amount of traffic?

 

I wish I could answer these questions. I've never been to MACNA...I envy you. Hope you have a great time this year.

 

Floor does not close during speakers, as there are more than 1 at once sometimes. You have it all right apart from that.

 

There's usually traffic from the time the exhibits open on day 1 to close on day 3. The speakers are where it at though for serious reefers. But if youre just gonna lurk the exhibits take an empty backpack. You'll be so loaded with freebies and samples that you won't be able to carry it all in your arms.

 

Sometimes you can get some authors to sign their books, so be on the look out.

It is an awesome experience and I never bring enough money.

Have fun and socialize and see speakers if you can.

thanks for the tips, i will definetly bring a backpack and hopefully more money ha-ha, and yes, i will most likely just be lurking. i love this as a hobby but don't think i'll be going hardcore anytime soon.
