What is the hardiest anemone I can add to my 30 gallon tank? I want something fairly fool proof . . . if there is such a thing. Any help would be awesome.

Many anemones aren't the hardiest of creatures in the sense that they are intolerant to poor lighting/nutrient supply in the water. I would only recommend adding one of these species to your 30g if you have the proper lighting, an ample supply of nutrients, and are an experienced aquarist with a knowledge of inverts.

    Good luck

how old is the tank? they are very demanding of water quality and a mature aquarium is a better bet than a new aquarium.

what else do you want in the tank ? of you want 1 nem and a pair of clowns, then your in a better position than someone who wants to add one to a reef tank IMO (as you know, the blighters sometimes go for a walk and woe betide any sessile life form in the way)

what type of lighting you got ? as this also has a bearing on species being suggested

Well I cannot for the life of me think of what light I have (I know that’s sacrilegious in this hobby) I’m at work and not home so I can’t check. And yes I was thinking a pair of clowns and a yellow tang.

yellow tang - and a 30? not a great combination

they like a lot of swimming room
they like a lot of food
thus they number 2 a lot - which is not going to help with water quality in the tank with a nem in

    just my thoughts/ opinion

Perhaps a few damsels or maybe something in the blenny family (beware of sand feeders though...they require mature tanks with ample copepod populations).

You definitely can have more than just two clowns in a 30g, its just a matter of taking waste production/behavoir and territorialism into account.

Oh you have a few choices , small would be best IMO

dwarf angels (may be border line in a 30 but many suceed with them) - your not going to have other corals so you would be OK - flame, coral beauty, fireball, rusty, all nice fish IMO
    royal gramma - nice colours
    purple fire fish -awesome colour
bi colour blenny (black and red) great character

Im sure there are loads, just cant think of them all now

Nems IME need lots of light and pristine water conditions. Without this they can begin to whither away and releasing toxins in your tank without you even knowing until it's too late.
Don't get one until you know what type of ligthing you have.
As far as the yellow tang goes, Steve is right. I made the mistake of putting a yellow and a sail fin in a 70 gal. Not enough room for them what so ever. Now I'm forced to upgrade to a larger tank. Yay me lol...
