I bought a brand new 55g tank about 6 months ago. I got it home and set it up and leak tested and it there wasn't a single leak found anywhere after almost a week. Now, pretty much 6 months later, I walked into the room and I saw a shine from the bottom edge of the tank along the stand. Then upon further inspection it appears my tank is sitting in water and behind it, the water is dripping down on to the floor. I still don't see a leak anywhere but there is obviously one somewhere. I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with the seals on the bottom pane of glass. Well, what makes this worse is that I do have 2 fresh water tanks set up and yes this is a fresh water tank I am referring to but I have an Oscar in each tank. They are both about 10" long. They are aggressive and territorial I don't want to put them in the same tank until I get this fixed but I don't really have a choice. My main question is what the heck are the odds of this tank seal failing after 6 months?! The one 55g is too small for two 10" Oscars but I guess it will have to do until I either get it fixed. That bioload will bite as I will probably have to do water changes every other day. :( Oh well, I will make due I guess. Worse case I will have to get a divider?

Yeah I'd divide the tank in two to insure no aggression. At first I thought it was SW... All that lr and corals... Good thing it's FW I guess. Good luck!

It bites. These two oscars were together most of their lives but I had to separate them because they were fighting way too much. After being separated for so long I can assume it would only be worse than it was before. I could always take both out and put them back in at the same time after rearranging the tank and see if it makes them both feel out of place enough they won't fight as much. I will have to see. Depends on how today goes and this is going to make for a cruddy night of cleaning and breaking down the tank. bleh.

Any chance you can tansfer one to a rubbermaid type container for a temp home using the leaky tank water and decorations?

That is a good idea! I have an extra in my basement. I had the wife swing by the lfs and pick up a divider already. If I have issues with the bio-load or they just won't stop trying to get to each other I might just do that.
