so i was told for a FOWLR tank that i needed one of these bad boys because live rock needs circulation. im looking to set up a 40gallon. ...the question is which one of these should i get? is the koralia 1 going to be able to get the job done?

2 or 3 of the Koralia 1's. Or two of the Koralia 2's would also be OK for a fish only.

I'd go with at least the k2's the k1's are pretty weak

I have a 45 and use a K2. I also have a 700 GPH return and a MJ 1200. I feel that I could still use a little bit more flow. A pair would be awful nice. I do like a lot of flow though......

K2 or K3. I have a K1 in my 16G bowfront and its really weak, doesn't even make a finger leather move only 9" in front of it!
I have a K3 and two K4s in my 100G and they rock. If you are going with one I would do the K3 myself or two of the K2s.

I have 4 K2 in my 55 plus my return that does a good job of flow, so I think you should get at least 2 K2 for your tank

I agree. 2 K2s. K3s would be too much. You want to have 2 so that you can point them at each other and get good random flow as a result.

I use a K3 in a 20G QT and frag tanks, not too much at all. I maybe wouln't use two of them but a single one does wonders for movement.
