    You can give whenever you feel appropriate. Click the "scale" symbol at the bottom of the avatar area. The more you have, the more you give. There's really no "highest levels" it just keeps on going. I believe Packleader has the most, but I'm not 100% positive. As for the name under you username, it changes as you get more karma, or become a supporter and you can change it to whatever you want.

    One other thing about karma is that it is a good indication that the person giving you advice knows what they are talking about. Karma is usually given if the response is a good one.
