I can't imagine the dosing req'd for a clam in a pico once it grows up.

Yea, mine is a crocea. Definitely the only clam one would want to keep in there.

My cherub angel decided he wanted to harass my new clam which was why I even set up this pico in the first place. I feel your pain, lol.

ya can't really go by watts/led? ya gotta look at PAR/PUR readings, in a 3 gallon though, it wouldn't take many Cree's to grow everything

$100 seems kinda steep for basically a tank with a crappy led fixture and a filter that won't be enough for a reef.

Id say get a Mr. Aqua cube and a better light and like an aquaclear or something. Could prob get all of that for around the same price

I put five 3 watt Cree LEDs from Rapid over it running on a 700mA constant current driver.

    1 x UV
    1 x Blue
    1 x Royal Blue
    2 x Cool White

The clam is about 10 inches from the LEDs with no optics. I'm still currently increasing the photo period by a half hour a week until I reach what I had in my main tank and then I'll start messing more with height and optics if I even do them, most likely not.

Hm. So maybe buying like a Par bulb from boost + a small tank would be a better option you think?

I guess it doesnt need to be an ecopico. More so the fact of a pico tank.

    Too. Much. Work.

You always tell me how lazy you are with your tank - can't do that with a nano ;)

Save the money for your future purchases or your upgraded tank.
