no it was gurgling because the overflow water was way to low it was draining quicker than it was being pumped into the tank

How quickly the water drains from the DT, is determined by the volume pumped into it. The amount of water leaving the DT, can't exceed the rate of the pumps return. That rate is all determined by how much water is pumped into the DT. Unless you have more than one source of water being added to the DT, other than one return pump, it is impossible.

However, you can have just the opposite. A pump that over-rates an overflow box.

yes yes.. I do understand that. and I don't have another source of water so I guess the impossible just happened. I fixed it I just am wondering why it happend I just adjusted the flow on how much was being pumped in and how much was draining.

I think you should take your pump out clean it up really good and try it again. If that doesn't do it, check your return lines, they could be clogged or something and that may slow the flow to the point where your water level is low so it gurgles.

You shouldn't have any adjustment on the overflow. If you have a ball-valve, or anything of the like regulating flow, it should be removed. This has the potential to get you into trouble. The only adjustment that should be done, would be on the return. The return regulates gph going in and out of the DT.
