    I went to an lfs today, and I got 2 impulse buys. 1 Kenya tree $5. And my first sps, a plating coral $10 (I forgot the name) I will post pics of the Kenya tomorrow.

    It's name is montipora capricornis (monti cap for short)

    Did I get good deals? The Kenya is regularly $10, but it was on sale for $5. It’s about 2 1/2 “ tall.

    Nice picks but I'm a little worried about your water quality. It looks like you have a massive gha outbreak.

    Phosphates won't kill corals but they may slow down the calcification process (growth). I can't comment on the GHA as being massive as I only see a very small portion of the tank. There are far worse things I've seen in member's tanks than a little nuisance algae.



    I wish my impulse buys were only $15 total :eek:

    Well I did have a big outbreak, but about 75% is gone. My tank used to look like a lawn.

    i tested my water. Ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite where 0, phosphate was barely detectable.
